Fire Station No. 572 is a relocation of the existing Fire Station which had it’s land lease expire. The new facility is located on a 1.88 acre site of which only .75 acres was disrupted. The new fire station is located in a manner to allow future expansion / use of the remaining site acreage. The Fire Station design is based on traditional single family homes in the area. The Southwest Spanish style architecture has timeless aesthetic and compliments the surrounding home communities. The design team presented two design schemes to both the Fire Department and the City CIP Departments in an effort to maintain a limited budget and to also provide the best value for the project.
The building is situated on the site in an orientation that best utilizes the site area and allows for good apparatus circulation, solar orientation and is respectful to the adjacent neighborhoods. The building location on the site and floor plan concept was designed to minimize the impact on surrounding residential areas.
