This new 13,637 s.f. Fire Station No. 17 is a 3-bay back up station with 6 dorm rooms and will replace an existing 5,457 sf. station. The station contains a fitness room for fire personnel and an exam/treatment room for public use. This station has a on-site water tank, communications tower, a septic system, and on-site propane for heating and cooking. Due to soil and site capacity, septic system design presented some challenges to the design team and an additional site was purchased to meet septic system needs.
Perlman Architects worked with the Fire District, the community and the Local Design Committee to develop an aesthetic that complemented the existing Rustic Cabin style of the surrounding neighborhoods. The Station’s material palette is comprised of a two-tone smooth and split face masonry, shingle roof, and wood stained structural elements through out.
