This 4-bay, 16,000 sf station showcases the latest trends in fire station design and circulation, complete with separate battalion chief living quarters. Situated next to Surprise Stadium (MLB Spring Training Facility), the design truly matches the surrounding park buildings and grounds. The floor plan is a modified version of Surprise’s prototype plan, as first used in F.S. No. 301. Changes were made to improve circulation, add separate battalion chief quarters, incorporate police substation, enlarge the fitness area, add meeting rooms and give a more dynamic exterior massing, as well as to integrate training props into the exterior.
